Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda has given NBS TV reporter Canary Mugume his seal of approval as the best TV reporter in the Pearl of Africa, Uganda. The self-styled Old Man of the Clan took to his Instagram  today to celebrate the passionate television scribe.

“Best television reporter in Uganda,” Mwenda’s  caption on Mugume’s photo reads.

Shortly after seeing the post, Mugume rushed to Mwenda’s comments section to throw a couple of applause and fire emojis.

Mwenda’s comments have come a few months after Samson Kasumba, a fellow journalist who branded Mugume as the most hardworking, passionate and committed young man he has met.

Mugume once worked for Pastor Kayanja’s Channel 44 for two years before realizing that his career was stagnant. He was later introduced to Next Media Services CEO Kin Kariisa, a move that took his career a notch higher
