Makerere University’s 90th Guild President Vincent Lubega Nsamba has initiated the Makerere Diaspora Alumni Association that will link students to the alumni in the diaspora.
The association follows Nsamba’s engagement with the Makerere alumni in the diaspora during his official visit to the United States. He said on Wednesday that he had had a conversation with the diaspora alumni community in the States on the possible strategic relations between the students fraternity and the diaspora.
“Had an insightful virtual conversation with our Diaspora Alumni community in the States on the possible strategic relations between their community and the students fraternity back home. As the resolutions recommended, a formidable Makerere diaspora alumni association has been established which going forward will provide the students with the latitude of tapping into the opportunities in this part of the World with the alumni’s guidance, creating a bridge between them and @Makerere and contributing to the University initiatives,” he said.
The Mak diaspora alumni association will create opportunities for students at Makerere University as the alumni in the diaspora will directly connect students to opportunities in the States.
Nsamba has had several engagements with different stakeholders during his visit to the United States as he continues to hunt for opportunities that will benefit his electorates. While in the States, he was also honoured to have a chat with the legendary television guru Shaka Ssali.
Makerere’s guild president is expected to be back in the country at the end of the week.
