Cavendish University which earlier on, last week announced 27th March as its day of graduation has also postponed the ceremony to a later date after the 30 days of state emergency that were announced by the president on Wednesday while addressing the nation about the Coronavirus pandemic.

The new day of graduation will be Thursday 21st 2020 at the same venue that was communicated earlier.

In a letter from the university Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Francis Mugisha, the university CEO emphasized that the students must graduate because they deserve to be rewarded for their academic excellence but also the university is in Uganda and has to take part in all the prevention of the virus.

“Cavendish University Uganda being a responsible university with an international outlook, we have judged it necessary to postpone the next graduation from the earlier planned date of 27th March 2020 to Thursday 21st May 2020, all conditions remaining the same,” said the the VC.

He went ahead to caution graduands, the students of the university and the public to be too curious about the virus by avoiding everything that can lead to contracting it.
