Wycliffe Senabulya, a student at Cavendish University is currently detained at Kabalagala Police station in connection to the murder of his girlfriend, Gorette Arot. According to the Deputy Police spokesperson, Polly Namaye, Arot was killed on Sunday.

Three other suspects have also been arrested with Senabulya over suspected collaboration in the murder of Arot.  The other three include; Harriet Hawumba, 19, a student at Cavendish University, Watson Kalyango, 22, and John Julius Seremba, 22, all residents of Kabalagala Division.

“We have information that Arot was Senabulya’s girlfriend. The victim had been in a relationship with the suspect for some time which resulted into a child,” Namaye said.

Police further revealed that Arot was strangled and her body dumped near Nsambya Police Barracks in the middle of Sunday night. However, it remains unclear why Arot was killed but most residents suspect the act as a result of ‘relationship gone wrong’.

Senabulya’s baby mama’s death comes few weeks after another campus student committed suicide when his girlfriend dumped him for someone else. Relationship-related deaths are on the rise especially amongst the young people.
