Today afternoon Kyambogo university swore in the new Guild Government. This major ceremony was graced by the university vice chancellor Professor Elly Katunguka .
However, it kicked off with a little more of confusion as the out going cabinet led by Mr. Ian Kafuko were not allocated enough seats which sparked off a struggle between them and the organisers. The outgoing cabinet refused to enter Kulubya hall were the main event was taking place. Later, they were seen entering the hall through the Chicken doors. Kudos ! After that, the swearing and handover ceremony proceeded harmoniously.
Mr. Lugalavu Lawrence the 14th guild president of Kyambogo University addressed the administrators and students fraternity present where he was quoted saying “This event marks the end of politics and the beggining of leadership.”
Later, the Dean of students addressed the students and advocated for a moment of silence for the lost life of a one late Isabella Ainembabazi and pointed out that next time failure to adhere to the electoral guidelines by any candidates would punishable .
She still said that next time there will be electronic voting …to which the students did not agree and they replied zeeeeeeeeeeee zeeeeeeeeeeee meaning they were not welcoming the development.
And lastly the Vice chancellor Proffessor Elly Katunguka thanked Kafuko for serving to their satisfaction…..and still as usuall advised students to stop betting, irresponsible sexual acts that might tantamount to aids and avoid kitoko. He also talked of the skilling programme they are designing for all the graduate students
