In the recent addresses of the nation dine by the president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, he has been pointing out the resumption of finalist students at all education levels and this includes those from universities too..
As one of the Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) being a mandatory wearing of masks, most of the university staff has been looking for all means to avail them to their students on top of the ones provided by the government and this is where Lida Packaging Industries came in to donate these masks to Makerere University.
6000 face masks were handed over to the vice chancellor of the institution Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe by Mr. Li Shingquing who is one of the top executives in the company.
“This will go a long way in ensuring safety of staff and students. I thank the Confucius Institute for connecting Makerere to the local Chinese business community.” Nawangwe added on thanking the company for the donations.
Lida Packaging Industries is a new mask production industry located in Mukono that was recently launched by the president on 26th May to help out on the increasing demand of masks in the country. It produces an approximation of 560000 masks on a daily basis.
