Controversial City Lawyer Male Mabirizi has called on Cavendish University to prove that musician cum politician Bobi Wine fulfilled all the academic requirements leading to the award of a Bachelor’s degree in law.
Mabirizi alleges that Bobi Wine hired people to do his law exams and wants Cavendish University to avail all examination scripts done by Bobi Wine.
The lawyer claims he needs to verify if the handwriting on the examination scripts is that of Bobi Wine, or if the answers presented are correct.
Mabirizi alleges that Bobi has a history of academic fraud and that he forged his way into Makerere University to pursue his diploma in music dance and drama.
Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi, appeared on the list of graduands at Cavendish University who will be conferred upon the Bachelor’s degree in law.
The politician began his law degree at IUEA before joining politics and was later transferred to Cavendish University. While at IUEA, one of his lecturers was Lewis Rubongoya whom he appointed as the secretary general of his party the National Unity Platform.
Bobi’s law degree has raised a storm on social media and some netizens claim that he ‘bought’ the degree.
In response to critics, Cavendish University vice chancellor Dr. Olive Sabiiti said she taught Bobi herself and that he fulfilled all academic requirements.
“Like other students, he had to meet all the requirements including class attendance, passing of assessments, exams, internship and research projects,” she said.
Some netizens argue that Bobi Wine is always busy with politics and wonder where he got time to attend class. The politician was also reported to have skipped classes while still at IUEA.
