Following approval by the National Council for Higher Education – NCHE, Clarke International University (CIU) is calling forapplications for the August in-take for various programmes which are eligible for Online Distance Electronic Learning (ODeL).
For starters, ODeL is a method of learning that gives students, who have to fulfill multiple roles and are affected by the barriers of distance, cost and time, an opportunity to pursue their studies online. ODeL has been considered as a way to go amidst a pandemic; which has seen a number of learning institutions go digital.
Students who are kick-starting a course through ODeL at CIU; account creation via https://odel.ciu.ac.ug is the very first step.
A user is required to sign-in with either a given username or a CIU email as provided by the institution. Those with CIU given emails can enter the email and password, then log in. As for those with usernames, the procedure is not any different; simply enter the username and password and you’ll have your way through.
The next screen will approve your authenticity, thereafter getting you into the main ODeL platform.
Also, students can access the ODeL service through a mobile application called Moodle. This platform just like the Web ODeL portal is accessed through a data-connection.
The Moodle app can be downloaded from PlayStore and installed. After launching the app, a user is required to type odel.ciu.ac.ug as the service they want to access. They’ll then be directed to the sign-in page. It provides an option for signing in with another account in case you intend to add one.
Upon successful signing-in, the main platform will be displayed to the user with categories of faculty courses.
