Charlotte Katuutu, who did her law degree course from Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), is the best student with an overall average of 70.95 percent at the 44th graduation ceremony taking place right now at Law Development Centre.
Jemimah Mushabe from Makerere Law School was the 2nd overall best student with 70.6 percent followed by Augustine Akineza from Kampala International University (KIU) with 70.4 percent while Cynthia Nona Tamale, also from Makerere, is the 4th with 70.4 percent.
The overall pass rate at the bar course is 52.4 percent and 97 percent for the diploma in law and human rights.
Katuutu will receive the Chief Justice’s Prize that comes with a set of relevant law books and a full set of the lawyer’s attire, among other things.
Close to 700 are graduating. Of these, 222 will receive Diplomas in Legal Practice (Bar Course); 441 will be awarded Diplomas in Law while 37 will graduate with Diplomas in Human Rights Law. The ceremony is being presided over by the Attorney General, William Byaruhanga at the LDC campus.
