The government of Uganda agreed to increase food allowances for Busitema Government Sponsored students from shs.4000 per day to shs.7000 late last month.
This was after the Guild President of the university, H.E Engiro Marcel addressed a letter to H.E Yoweri Museveni, the President of Uganda making the humble request.
In a letter dated 5th June 2022, he confirmed the increase from shs. 4000 to shs. 7000 per day and requested the students to responsibly manage the finances especially during these very difficult and unpredictable economic times.
With the rising prices of almost all commodities including food items and other essential items in the country, the President found it imperative to honor the students’ plea.
