The Rector of Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) says students should be busy mopping, cooking and washing clothes in their homes rather not loitering around amid closure of schools.
Dr Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo says the students must not abandon books over pertinent activities such as playing video games, unnecessary movies amid closure of schools due to COVID-19 pandemic.
He says the students should be optimistic of life after the pandemic and avoid wasting time.
The Rector urges students of the institution not to relax on their studies during the closure of schools due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In his “Eid-Adha” speech, Dr Sengendo says students should continue reading their academic books and those in final year must be working on research projects to easily catch up when schools reopen.
The IUIU Rector assures students that the Institution is just waiting for the Government of Uganda’s order to continue providing quality education.
Dr Sengendo has urged students to be productive in their respective homes through supporting their parents.
He has also asked the students to continue following all precautionary measures set by authorities to see-off the pandemic.
