The Buganda Road Court yesterday granted bail and released three out of the four Makerere University students that  were arrested and remanded to Luzira Prison.

The students were arrested by Police when they staged a protest over the closure of Makerere University by President Museveni, and have been in Luzira for over a week now.

Paul Kato Edmund Kahiigi and a one Wasswa were all granted bail save for Ronald Ainebyoona who was denied bail due to failure to have substantial surerities.

Ainebyoona’s friends were seen engaging in last minute attempts in vain.

“We are trying to process a production warrant for him… by the end of today,” vowed Solomon Arinaitwe, one of his friends.

A production warrant is one on which a person bases to appear in court for review of a bail application.

The next court hearing is on December 2, 2016.

By that time, Ainebyoona will have completed a month in the prison coolers of Luzira.
