Great Lakes Regional University directors Natukwasa Honest Wilkins and Eleanor Nyamishana have been given hope to have their University reopened. This was after High Court in Kampala yesterday ruled in their favour.
The directors of the university had applied for a court injunction against Dr Hamlet Mbabazi Kabushenga to stop him from trespassing in the facility.
The ownership conflict between the Directors of Great Lakes Regional University and the founder Dr Kabushenga prompted National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to temporarily close the institution at Bushura in Kanungu District for a month with hope to iron out the differences.
The High Court presided over by Justice Johnson Karemani Johnson yesterday, December 8th 2021 instituted an immediate court injunction against Rev Dr. Mbabazi Hamlet Kabushenga, his wife Esther Kellen Kabushenga , all their servants and associates from trespassing and occupying the facility in the name of a university they resigned as directors.
It is alleged that Dr Hamlet Kabushenga is as well needed for international financial crimes ranging from corruption, obtaining money by false pretense and fraud.
Justice Karemani therefore ruled that the National Council for Higher Education should reopen the University which was closed 2 weeks ago.
