Through their distributors, African Queen No.1 Distributor Limited, BIC East Africa has today handed over 100,000 BIC pens to the ministry of education in a bid to support the government’s cause of distributing study material to students who are stuck home over COVID-19.
According to a joint letter penned to the Ministry of Education by Innocent B. Tibayeita, the Managing Director African Queen No.1 Distributor Limited as well as Richard Mugenyi, the Country Implant Manager-Uganda for BIC EAST AFRICA, their total donation is equivalent to UGX 50,000,000.
“African Queen thus wishes to make a donation of 100,000 BIC Pens towards the Ministry of Education & Sports to help in the government program of providing study material during this lockdown.” The letter reads in part.
“The donation is courtesy of BIC East Africa – The manufactures of BIC Pens, BIC Lighters, and BIC Shavers. Our total contribution is equivalent to UGX 50,000,000,” the letter reads further.
The donation was delivered today 13th May 2020 at the Office of the Prime Minister. The company representatives paused for a photo moment with the OPM officials shortly after delivering this donation.
African Queen No.1 Distributor Limited is a company dealing in the distribution of fast-moving consumer goods in and around Uganda. They distribute for multi-national companies across the Globe such as BIC East Africa, PZ Cussons, Kevian Kenya, Fay Tissue and Serviettes among others.
