Godfrey Mugisha, the newly elected Ibanda District Youth Chairman is no more. The youth leader has succumbed to the virus after a week in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mulago Hospital.

Mugisha, who had also been targeting the position of Secretary for External Affairs on the National Youth Council (NYC) was unable to take part in the elections on Friday because he was down with the virus.

In a screenshot that Campus Bee has obtained, Mugisha was in full spirit on Monday this week when a colleague contacted him for updates about the sickness. He told him that he was out of danger and was on oxygen at Mulago.

“I have received the most shocking news today morning of the passing on of my brother, friend and colleague – Godfrey Mugisha.” Edson Rugumayo, the NRM flag bearer for Western Youth MP posted on his Facebook.

“I am lost for words. Mugisha has been a true friend and a very enterprising young man. The nation has been robbed of a very committed citizen that would undoubtedly have had a very magnificent contribution to our growth and development.” Mr. Rugumayo added.

The late Mugisha attended Ntare School in Mbarara before completing his A-Level education at Mengo SS. He later joined Kenya Aeronautical College for his higher learning.
