Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started, most of the scientists embarked on traditions of finding a cure of the pandemic although there has not been any progressive signs yet.
Earlier on today, Makerere University through its Research and Innovations Fund (RIF) came up with a new idea of finding a cure that can treat the novel Coronavirus.
While engaging the media and other stakeholders at Mulago hospital today, RIF front lined the issue of collecting blood from the recovered patients and preparing it further as a treatment of Corona virus in Uganda
The treatment was referred to as the Convalescent Immune Plasma Treatment project (COVID Trial) which is a collaboration of Makerere university, UPDF Medical Services, Mulago Hospital Joint Clinical Research Centre and Uganda Blood Transfusion Services.
Those who have recovered from COVID-19 are therefore called upon to donate blood which will further be treated and prepared to treat corona virus in Uganda and this started today where a one Laura Nagasha donated her blood to the cause.
