Dr. Joseph Ssekandi, a Ugandan academic administrator who serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Uganda Martyrs University, a private university affiliated to the Roman Catholic Church in Uganda, has in these times of crude crisis proven that politeness is the flower of humanity with acts of pure self-effacement and modesty.
Dr. Ssekandi who to some in the regions of Nkozi and Kituntu is being celebrated as a hero for his selfless act of freely transporting expectant women during these uncertain times of pandemic has become the talk of these counties living many to wonder if this might be just another ploy for the good Doctor to get to cruise around during the lockdown given the “presidential directive on motor vehicles and easement on expectant women.”
Sources indicate the academician offered his personal vehicle to transport any pregnant woman around Nkozi and Kituntu subcounties to hospital for delivery and medical check ups which has been confirmed by some locals residing in the said region and informants on site.
It goes without saying that should the Academic doctor’s intensions be pure hearted, many should learn from them and possibly, just possibly replicate them wherever their residences may be.
