International Business, Science And Technology University (ISBAT University) has decided to switch back to online lectures following a spike in COVID-19 cases. According to an email sent to all students on Friday, the university will be conducting online lectures for the next 10 days with effect from Saturday, 5th June 2021.
The university, which will be waiting for further government directions has urged all students to re-register so that they can access the students portal.
“Considering the prevailing situation in and around Kampala, University management has decided to switch over to online classes with effect from 5th June 2021 for a period of 10 days subjected to further government directions.” Part of the email sent to students reads.
As the university prepares to release their online timetable, all active students have been advised to utilize the online library.
The management further told all students to get vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19 after which they will be required to send their vaccination card via email. ISBAT now joins Kyambogo and MUBS universities that have also moved online in a bid to safeguard students’ health.
As COVID-19 cases continue to surge, the Ministry of Health has released the latest statistics which indicate that there are 1,083 new COVID-19 cases and the cumulative confirmed cases are now 49,759.
