The notorious Custodian of Olympia Hostel in Kikoni, Reuben, Campus Bee has learned is a man of deadly traits for both the male populance in the hostel and the female. A student who asked us to run his story anonymous has contacted us to reveal yet another series of shocking details about this individual with a very thirsty member.
Hello Campus Bee, I am student at Makerere University and I used to reside at Olympia last semester. First things first, I was chased and told to look for an alternative hostel even after booking earlier on before last semester closed. When I saw you running stories about the Custodian, I decided to come out also.
Towards the close of last semester, one of my best friends – a girl, told me that she was receiving weird and unnecessary advances from Reuben and I didn’t take it serious. I had heard stories of Reuben seeking to take advantage of so many female students but I didn’t think it would come this close to me.
Sammy (not real name) whose room was like mine also because I was a very regular visitor there opened up to me about a case of sexual harassment and now that I look back, I feel less of a friend because I didn’t give her the attention she deserved then. Do you know what it takes for a girl to confide in you and tell you details of an older man, in a position of power that is seeking to take sexual advantage of them?
Well, Sammy told me about a time when her key card was acting up and she sought intervention from the custodian’s office. It was at 9PM after leaving her class (she is an evening student) and apparently, the Custodian looked at her room that night and said he wouldn’t be able to work on it. “You can sleep over at my place and we work on your door tomorrow” Reuben told my friend.
That night she came over at mine and wasn’t in her usual mood. She badly wanted to sleep so she took to my bed immediately and I didn’t mind because the boys were over for FIFA and on Friday nights we play till morning, so we didn’t mind her.
What Sammy had not told me that night was that Reuben had had the audacity to touch her breasts and bums while suggesting that she sleeps over at his place. From that unexpected but very disrespectful exchange in front of her room, she had slapped the Custodian and proceeded to my room.
Well, as it turns out, the Custodian saw the room she ran to and marked it. When the semester ended, the Custodian personally came to my room to tell me that if I really wanted to retain my room, I had to book before the end of the semester. He probably expected me not to have any money.
I paid my booking fees and went home. When I went to hostel last week, I was shocked to be told that my room had been occupied and that it was a management issue. I asked if there were anymore rooms available and I was answered in the negative. So I proceeded to Panico where I am staying now.
It is only yesterday when one of my neighbours of last semester told me that fresh and cute first year girls were the ones in my former hostel room now. “Bloody hell” I thought to myself. The first person I told my unfortunate circumstance was Sammy and that is when she opened up about the full story of her encounter with Reuben.
This hyena wasn’t actually punishing me but sought to punish Sammy for turning down his advances. While chasing me away, he must have been laughing heartily and saying, “where will you hide now when your key card doesn’t work?”
To make matters worse, I am not the only one. About four other boys I know were all denied places in the hostel and when you ask them all, they have a girlfriend at Olympia or are tight friends with a girl that Reuben wants. I really feel sorry for the young unsuspecting girls he gave those slots.
My friend is in the hostel now but she is not settled at all. Someone that is rude enough to touch your breasts and bums when you’re at their mercy is capable of even raping you. But unfortunately, that is the kind of Custodian we had at Olympia taking care of us.
