Classy restaurant, Café Javas has issued an official statement following a video released by one of their customers indicating that she found a rat in her milkshake bought from the Café’s Kira Road branch.
According to Café Javas, they have analyzed a CCTV footage showing how the said milkshake was made and there is no way a rat would survive being crashed by the blender. The restaurant further explains that their supervisors ensured that food safety and hygiene standards were adhered to before calling the “rat milkshake” story false.
“The two orders were prepared following our usual high standard protocols of food safety and hygiene duly overseen by our supervisors before delivery to the customers all in view of our closely monitored CCTV cameras.” The restaurant management said in a statement.
The classy restaurant noted that the customer threatened to circulate her own version of the story if she was not paid a certain sum of money.
“A quick investigation including a review of our CCTV footage of the preparation and service of the milkshake confirmed that there was no adulteration of the milkshake. The customer was duly informed of the findings to which she reacted by threatening to circulate a video of her version of events if she was not paid a certain sum of money.” The statement reads further.
Café Javas claims that the video and story were released to bring down their business before revealing how the whole saga led to the distortion of their logo.
“On viewing the video making rounds on sections of social media and in addition to our independent investigations, it is our considered opinion that, these claims are in bad faith, untrue, malicious, and intended to bring our business into disrepute. The circulation of the malicious video has further led to a distortion of our logo.” Reads part o their statement.
The restaurant has vowed to continue providing great food, great coffee, great service, and an experience that will make their customers’ time fabulous and memorable.
