The Gen. Aronda Memorial Lecture will be held at Makerere University main hall on 12th September 2016 at 2pm under the theme “Heroes never die.” The guest of honour will be H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and key note speaker will be Chief of Defence Forces [CDF] Gen. Katumba Wamala.
The host of the day will be Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba a family friend who will preside over several panels which will be in categories that show the entire life of Aronda; early Life National Resistance Army [NRA] times, UPDF commander times, and Ministerial time.
The function is open to the public. There shall be large projectors on both sides of the main hall and outside to cater for the overflow people. The function will be televised live on a yet to be disclosed TV station.
The Aronda Memorial Lecture will mark a year since the passing of Uganda’s Hero, Freedom fighter, leader, mentor, former CDF and minister, the late Aronda Nyakairima [Rest in Peace].
