When was the last time you heard from the MISS MUBS contest that was launched on 7th October at club silk?
Well, fashion and beauty die hards around MUBS are in a shock after the contest that was organized by a one Suzan Allen got rejected by Ms Evas Nakojo, the Dean of Students.
The over 20 contestants who had to pay 20k each to be considered are also stranded on the future of the contest.
It’s on this note that we decided to unfold the almost closed pages of the contest and find out what’s going on;
WHAT WENT WRONG?
According to the Dean, the organizers did not take the right paths to conduct such an event at campus. They only informed the guild and the campus administration after launching the contest which wasn’t the right procedure to go through.
More so, the Dean didn’t buy the theme under which this contest is running. She told the organizers that the theme “FASHION AND BEAUTY” depicts indecency which tarnishes the name of the institution.
With all this going on, the contest lost strength and the organizers are cooking their heads up to get the contest hitting the ground again.
WHATS THE WAY FORWARD?
The organizers have since the rejection strategised and preparations to change the theme and have it focus on community work around MUBS and Nakawa market are under way.
“Hopefully, this will help market the school contrary to the former theme,” said an organizer who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Also, contestants have been advised to keep lobbying for votes as the organizers try their best to convince the Dean to have the contest officiated.
We shall keep you posted on any development.
