The 3 day MAK strike is spreading remarkable effects. Students of CIT (College of Information Technology) and FEMA (Faculty of Economics and Management) who were supposed to sit for their tests in block B of CIT couldn’t sit their tests amidst demonstrations and silence of the faculty administration on the status of the tests.
The students protested earlier in the morning saying due to the previous state of conditions at the campus, the reading environment was unfavorable and not conducive to sit for tests. With that, they couldn’t make enough preparations such as for the tests they were to do this weekend.
Students gathered around the entrance chanting in loud pitch in order to get the Dean Dr.Gilbert Maiga to say something concerning the issue the issue at hand
The dean of students verbally told the students of CIT that they had three options; to either have the morning tests sat in the afternoon (yesterday) or today’s tests be sat tomorrow (today) or they should wait for the University to decide. Students demanded for a final written notice from the Dean addressing the issue because the issue wasn’t solved.
Majority of the students wan’t the tests postponed to next week since the VC Prof.John Ddumba Sentamu had earlier issued a notice about postponement of all tests.
After a long silence from the Dean, he finally issued a written official document calling off the tests.
