It is close to a trend that various Universities and other education institutions are making use of this lockdown period to improve their environments and facilities. Well, Nkumba University isn’t any different.
Joining the bandwagon of infrastructure renovations, Nkumba University is in a drive to re-green the barren patches on the University sports ground, led by the University’s alumni who all joined hands to do get the job, successfully done.

“With the continued lockdown because of the Coronavirus pandemic, we reasoned it great to re-green the Nkumba University sports ground. It is an initiative of the old students” said Robert Kakange popularly at the university as ‘Kaka’.
Some of the old students who are part of this initiative include Joseph Muyiira, Emmanuel Amagu, Alex Wasswa, Roch Somoka among others.

The grueling tilling of land as well as grass planting exercises have been completed and now the natural irrigation – thanks to the constant daily rains in Entebbe and the surrounding areas have been an added advantage.

Nkumba university’s sports ground joins the ever-increasing number of sports amenities that are having renovations during this lockdown .
This achievement comes after Kyambogo university also publicized carrying out major revamp on its play-ground with anticipation of state-of-the-art facilities.
