A well placed source Campusbee has spoken to has revealed a shocking twist and confession in the late Desire Mirembe’s murder. Campusbee is privy to information that after a gruelling interrogation experience at the much-feared Nalufenya Police Station in Jinja (where ADF rebel leader Jamil Mukulu is also being kept), Matthew Kirabo, Desire’s alleged boyfriend, has confessed to another murder which was the precursor to Desire’s.
According to our source, Matthew caved in during the interrogation conducted by multiple security operatives and confessed that he had earlier before Desire’s murder killed a yet-to-be-identified person. Apparently, Desire got to know of Matthew’s dark deed and confided in her pastor about it. Somehow, Matthew got wind of Desire’s confession to the pastor and from then on he started eyeing her with suspicion, fearing that it was just a matter of time before she gave him away to the Police. As a result, he became wary of her every step. Anxious for damage control and risk minimization, Matthew started tracking her everywhere her fragile feet could take her.
On the fateful day Desire met her death in Jinja where she had gone for fellowship, our source tells us that Matthew spiked her drink, rendering her unconscious after which he proceeded to strangle her. Following reports of her death, the media reported how a friend of Desire’s had reported to Police that the deceased had received numerous death threats from an unknown person, weeks before her death. It is not clear whether Matthew is the mysterious man who picked Desire from her hostel in the evening of that tragic Friday when she met her death.
Today, Matthew’s case came up for mention at Jinja court but he claimed not to understand English so the hearing has been adjourned as arrangements to get him an interpreter commence. We shall be giving you details of this riveting story as and when it continues unfolding.
