The Uganda police has released a notice in which it has requested the public to corporate with the force in searching of Dr. Mathew Kirabo.
In a public notice published in New vision today, the Police spokesperson Mr. Fred Enanga appealed to whoever has information that may lead to the arrest of Mathew Kirabo to avail it to any police station nearby.

‘’Dr. Kirabo Mathew passport number A00261045 whose photograph appears above is wanted by police for the offence of murder vide CRB 1265/2015 of Lugazi police station. Police appeals to whoever has any information which may lead to his arrest and prosecution to pass it in confidence to the nearest police station,’’ Mr. Enanga quoted.
Kirabo is suspected of murdering his fiancée Desire Mirembe who was a first-year medical student at Makerere University on July 10, 2015, and dumping her body in the Lugazi sugarcane plantations in Buikwe district, where it was discovered on July 11, 2015 after a two-day search.

Kirabo confessed to the murder and was charged in Jinja High Court before being remanded to Jinja’s Nalufenya prison.
After the state complained that the crime had been committed in Mukono, the case was transferred to Mukono High Court on the instructions of the then-principal judge, Yorokamu Bamwine. After 6 years, the High Court in Mukono finally began hearing the case on October 6, 2021.
Kirabo Mathew skipped court on November 3 because he claimed he was hospitalized in Jinja with Covid-19.
However, investigations revealed that Kirabo did not have Covid-19 and that his lawyers only used forged results to deceive the court.
On November 17, 2021, the presiding judge, Justice Henry Isabirye Kaweesa, seized the sureties and they paid their bond of 150 million.
The case still hangs in balance with Matthew Kirabo on the run.
