We recently published a less detailed story of the Kyambogo student who got crashed by a machine at his internship work place .
Wycliffe Beinomugisha, a second year student pursuing a bachelor’s of environmental engineering had been doing his internship at Cooling Solutions Limited, a subcontractor hired by Katcom Projects Limited which provides air conditioning services at a construction site in Kampala’s industrial area which site happens to be part of the property acquired by the new Violin Printing and Publishing Company Limited.
According to Dickson Baseke the CEO of Cooling Solutions Limited, the inter who had been deployed since May 22 was attached and deployed to Kisubi Hospital where he was maintaining a set of air conditioners at the time of the accident.
“I received a phone call from the site supervisor that our trainee had been cut by a grinding machine while trying to use it,” Baseke said.
” After the incident, the victim was put into a van by a fellow technician to be rushed to the hospital and by the time of arrival at the a Medical Centre in Bugolobi city suburb, Beinomugisha was pronounced dead,” Baseke said.
His body was then taken to Mulago hospital where a post mortem was carried out and the case reported to Jinja Road Police station. The body of the deceased was laid to rest at his ancestral grounds in Ibanda District. We are yet to establish if Beinomugisha’s family will be compensated.
