Fresh graduates looking forward to advancing in their academic journey could win big with Makerere University advertising eight (8) scholarship positions at Masters level – Education.
Makerere University in collaboration with University of Bergen, Norway; Kyambogo University, Uganda; National Institute of Teacher Education (UNITE); and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences is implementing a Six (6) years NORHED II supported Project titled ‘Capacity Building for Research–Based Teacher Education (CABUTE)’.
“Therefore, we now wish to use part of the CABUTE grant to provide a total of Eight (8) Masters scholarships to promising scholars conducting their studies and research at Makerere University in one or a combination of the following subject areas: Music Education, English Language Education, Mathematics Education and General Education/Foundations of Education,” a University notice read.
The eligibility for the scholarship is as follows;
The applicant must
1) Be holding at least a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Teacher Education, Open, Distance and eLearning, Higher Education, Education Information Systems, Adult and Community Education (or equivalent);
2) Be a Ugandan citizen, aged not more than 45 years at the time of the closing date of receiving the applications.
3) Be able to stay in Norway for a period of at most Three (3) months a year for supervision when need arises;
4) Not holding any other scholarship for Master studies
5) Demonstrate the ability to think creatively and work independently and also be able to work in a team of researchers from Uganda and Norway.
6) Take on a Master research project in any of the Four (or blend of the) subject areas named above.
7) Be a tutor/lecturer in a Teacher Training College in Uganda
