Former Makerere University Chancellor Professor Mondo Kagonyera graced and officiated this year’s MakRun as the Chief Runner on Sunday.

The event attracted a reasonable number of students as compared to last year’s and statistically an improvement was realized.  As the chief runner, Prof Kagonyera trekked along with Vice Chancellor, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe and the duo appeared amidst loud chants from students and alumni.

Runners congregated around them for selfies and illustrative memories which was followed by the officiation of the Run.

Prof Kagonyera in his remarks upon return, congratulated the runners towards their contribution in the construction of the Students Centre that will be set up using the annual MakRun Funds before asking university management to ensure proper utilization of the funds to avert possible matters of mistrust and suspicion that may flop future hopes of receiving funds from possible well-wishers and donors.

Pro Kagonyera then presided over the medal awarding ceremony in the presence of all runners and the vice Chancellor.
