With Stella Nyanzi, getting her breasts bare is just about the smallest thing on her world wonder to-do-list. The suspended Makerere researcher is yet again at it; and this time she’s wondering whether to offer a police traffic officer her woman juice in exchange for her impounded car or not.
We all know for Stella, a thought is closer to a statement than a mere threat. Prof. Mamdani, the Makerere fraternity, students, the media and the whole world are still testifying to the fact. I needn’t say a lot, here she is in person;
Last week, my driver knocked a young man. He ran away from the car when he saw traffic policemen arriving at the scene of the accident. He hid at a shop where he could observe the action. My car was ‘arrested’ and towed away to the police station.
After the policemen towed the car away, the driver returned to the scene and took the accident victim to a nearby clinic for medical attention. The young man informed his parents who also came to the clinic. The parents demanded that scans of their son’s bones be taken in order to eliminate the possibility of fractures.
My driver sent our mechanic to the police station to assess possibilities of recovering the car without informing me. On discovering that the police officers required a copy of the car’s log book, my driver then called me – five hours after the accident. I was irate. I fumed. I cursed. I blasted him for all his youthful energy and recklessness. I assured him about how I do not have a single coin to give him. I told him to get my car or lose his job.
Today is the fifth day without our family car. The children have been relying upon my sister’s kindness to transport them in her own car. Her schedule is different from their school drop-off and pick-up times. We are inconveniencing her. I resumed using the mini-bus taxis. It is not fun, at all!!! Taxis to Kyanja are the worst…
Now that I have suffered a bit, I want to help Badiru get my car out of the police station. I have been given horror stories about police officers stealing all the working spare parts out of arrested cars. I have also been warned about the possibility of having to pay heavy unreceipted fines. I wonder whether the OC-Traffic will give me back my car in exchange for morning-orgasm. I need a strategy to reclaim my car.
Our eyes are glued.
