Several Makerere University students were seen today morning in jubilant mood as they escorted the motor mouthed Kampala Woman MP hopeful and recently reinstated Makerere University lecturer Dr. Stella Nyanzi.
“I am excited to have returned my expression of interest forms to the National Election Management Council of the People Power Movement.” Wrote Stella Nyanzi later on her Social Media handles.
“I am seriously running for the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament Position. I’m confident that I will have the backing of both my political party FDC as well as my pressure group—People Power.” She wrote, declaring that it’s the start of the battle.
Stella Nyanzi and her group filled up the whole People Power head quarters so that the inside security had to enact restrictions to avoid congestion within. After the official communication from the People Power Election Management Council, Dr.Nyanzi stormed the Kamwokya streets with her group making loud noise and singing morale boosting songs the Makerere boys could remember.
Among the boys was Obed Obedgui Kwokuboth, a guild presidential aspirant at Makerere University.
Dr.Stella Nyanzi has been in the limelight ever since she staged a nude protest when she undressed to show her dissatisfaction with Prof. Mamdan’s behaviours at the research institute leading to her dismissal.
She later filed this case in the courts of law which she won recently and was reinstated. Dr.Stella hit the waves again when she used her Facebook wall to post a sensitive post deriding President Museveni, using his late mother Esteri Kokundeka.
She has since been in many controversial stories and has been arrested and detained several times during many protests within the country’s capital, Kampala.
