On the weekend, the Vice President of Uganda Hon. Jessica Alupo came to Kyambogo university to meet the NRM chapter of the institution in order to look for a way forward of winning the coming guild presidential elections.
However, the NRM leaders at Kyambogo had not communicated to the University administration that H.E Jessica Alupo would be coming to the university.
It was on this same day that the university’s Vice Guild president Hon Namara Claire had organised a conference; “The Women at The Front line” Campaign at the Central lecture block room 101 that had taken her days to secure.
During a short break of the launch, Claire and group had shortly left the venue, prompting the Vice President of Uganda and the NRM subjects to occupy the same room. Moments later, the returning Namara Claire and other organizers of the conference found themselves displaced by VP Jessica Alupo addressing a number of NRM affiliates.
The clash left Claire with no option but to ask the country’s Vice President out of the room as the initial users had not come to the close of the launch.
The two camps clashed in an unpleasant scene involving the displacement of the Vice president Alupo who left the room for the launch to go on.
Arguably, if Hon. Jessica Alupo’s hosts (university NRM Chapter) had communicated to the Senate earlier, it would not have come to this.
