The Coronavirus Pandemic ( COVID-19) has drastically changed our way of life including the traditional face to face learning by students in their respective institutions.
This means that the institutions, universities in particular cannot continue to thrive during this period and the future, making it important to embrace ICT solutions that will enable E- learning.
In order to promote E- learning during the COVID_19 lock down and beyond, Makerere University has started engaging computer manufacturers on the possibility of obtaining affordable yet good quality laptops which can be paid off on a hire purchase basis/ installments over an agreed period of time.
According to Makerere University’s Directorate For ICT Support ( DICTS), students who are interested in the laptop scheme ought to submit their responses through the short questionnaire / survey tool by clicking on the link provided on the University’s website. This is intended to obtain information on the number of students who are interested in the scheme.
Through the official Facebook page of the vice chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, it is evident that registration for the laptop scheme by interested staff and students is already on-going and will end today.
