Ndejje University over the weekend went to polls and voted Otai Eddie Isaac as the new guild president of the university. Otai won the race beating his counterpart Garang John Gieu in a tight race- gathering more votes from both main and Kampala campuses.
The voting which took place on Friday and Saturday last week saw Otai gathering 506 votes from the main campus under different faculties while Garang got 448 votes. After voting at Kampala campus for the weekend class, Otai earned 291 votes while Garang earned only 197 votes making Otai the automatic democratically elected guild president replacing Mwaka Sixtus the outgoing guild.
Who is Otai Eddie
He is also known as Otamix by his friends, Otai is an Easterner from Busia and went to Mulusa Academy before joining Ndejje University. He is known to be a reserved but outspoken person. He has been a prominent member of the past guild and a team leader during last year’s Association of University Sports (AUUS) games which Ndejje hosted.
Apparently, Otai is 23 years old still single and with no plans of dating any time soon.
Meanwhile, Nkusi Daniel was voted as the vice guild from Kampala campus while Okimit Abdallah and Faizah Nabubi were voted Chairperson Men’s and Lady’s wings respectively.
The swearing in ceremony for the new guild will take place next week on a date to be communicated by the administration as the guild elects takes time to appoint new ministers in his cabinet.
