Students of Islamic University in Uganda, main campus Mbale this week lashed at their administrators for banning use of electronic appliances. Some of the appliances banned are percolators, flat irons, coils and heaters. The students accuse the university administration of banning mostly cooking appliances without giving them an alternative. The grieved can no longer boil tea and have been forced to start buying tea every day which costs them between shs700-shs1,000.
The ban has been implemented by the University Coordinator’s Department. The students who are currently doing their end of semester exams accuse the administration of not putting into consideration their arguments.
The university administration is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
