Eli Katunguka, acting Vice Chancellor Kyambogo University could be retaining his job after scoring the highest in the VC interviews that took place this Tuesday.
According The Monitor, a source who preferred an anonymous identity revealed that Prof Katunguka got 76 per cent while his opponent, Prof Geoffrey Bakunda, scored 66 per cent during the Senate vetting.
Nonetheless, the decision on who takes the position of Vice Chancellor still remains for the council to make as both candidates have been submitted as best for the job.
Five eligible candidates were shot listed for the interviews including; Prof. Eli Katunguka, the University’s acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aaron Wanyama, the former dean faculty of science at Kyambogo University, Prof. George Byaruhanga-Bazirake, the dean faculty of science at Kyambogo University, Principal Prof. Geoffrey Bekunda Makerere University Business School’s Deputy, and Prof. Charles Twesigye from Kyambogo’s Biology department.
