Empty seats flanked the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Kyambogo chapter meeting that was meant to declare the flag bearer representing the NRM party in the forth coming Kyambogo University guild presidential elections.
The meeting took place at student center on Monday 17th Feb 2020.
The meeting that was supposed to start around 3pm started almost at 5pm as the few attendants kept hoping for many people to come and join them. The numbers increased and by 5 pm, the student center was almost full. These however started walking away one by one until many seats were empty. By the end of the occasion, empty seats were everywhere.
“NRM has disappointed us this time round,” said Kayongo, one of the NRM die hard. “Not even soda and water were provided at such a function! I’m really disappointed.” He went on.
The mighty Uganda’s ruling party had only one candidate, Mwesigwa Jonathan, available to engage in the forthcoming guild election. He was immediately declared unopposed amidst the NRM chanting slogans.
Mwesigwa Johnathan is now the flag bearer for the NRM party who will tussle out with other candidates from other parties.
Mwesigwa later strolled through the campus with his crowd making noise for people to recognize their presence. He later proceeded to Banda to preach the yellow message to the Banda inhabitants.
Last week saw the FDC party hold its party primaries that had five contestants. Trust Mugisha Nduwayo won the hotly contested election becoming the FDC flag bearer. He is ready to lead the mighty opposition party to victory.
The people power aspirants are still in the social media campaigns and so far, the hive have learnt that Mbaziira John has started making appearances in hostels.
The political Virgin who is on the UYD ticket, Buluku and others are slowly making door to door campaigns around hostels.
