The three Makerere University students currently on remand at Luzira prison on charges of murdering their colleague David Ojok wouldn’t appear before court today for their case hearing since they were sitting for university exams. A letter from Luzira Maximum prison revealed.
State prosecutor Esther Narungi asked for adjournment of the case upon receiving a letter from Luzira Maximum prison indicating that the students managed to access university exams while in prison and was unable to attend court proceedings.
The three suspects are Ivan Mutungi, Marvin Atukwase and Derrick Wagooli all residents of Nkurumah Hall.
Prosecution states that the students on the night of April 12th 2015 at Nkrumah Hall students pounced and killed 25-year-old Ojok suspecting him to be a thief.
Now the magistrate has adjourned the case until June 4th for mention.
