Students at Nakawa based Makerere University Business School (MUBS) are in high gear as the 12th edition of the Annual MUBS Hospitality Day comes close. The event will be held on Friday 14th January, 2022 in the Main Building Parking Lot of MUBS.
The hospitality day is an education-entertainment event held annually by the Faculty of Marketing and Hospitality Management (FMHM) and organized by the students pursuing Bachelors in Leisure and Hospitality Management at MUBS.
The event has been ongoing since 2009 making this the 12th edition. According to the organisers, the day is a huge opportunity for brands to create awareness, exchange contacts and information with potential customers since the day targets an audience of over 18,500 MUBS students and 500 staff members.
The event is associated with a couple of pre-events like the regional outreach, sports day, fashion week, hospitality movie premier, MUBS comedy night and the hospitality bazaar which gives more time and opportunities for brands to create awareness and make sales.
This year’s edition is running under the theme; OTIUM – The Spectrum of Opportunities Amid The COVID-19 Pandemic.
The students are expected to familiarize themselves with concepts such as Sports business, Entertainment franchising, Showbiz, Media relations, Fashion and design and Filming among others for a wholistic learning opportunity.
There will also be sponsorship activations, talent discovery and relationship building (social capital).
