Embattled Kyambogo University Guild President Jonathan Tundulu is facing an impeachment vote on Wednesday after his own guild cabinet moved a motion to impeach him on grounds that include among others, concentrating in national politics.
However, an exclusive report we received from a source in Kyambogo University claims that the move was orchestrated by Kyambogo University Vice Chancellor Prof Elly Katunguka who has Tundulu in his bad books for opposing the 12 week tuition policy that resulted in a deadly strike where a student lost his hand by a teargas cannister.
We have received exclusive audios that capture a conversation between the guild vice president Hellen Ninsiima and another student where she (Ninsiima) acknowledges that the vice chancellor Prof Elly Katunguka and a one Katamba, an alleged ISO operative are working day and night to ensure that Tundulu gets out of office.
“Tundulu put himself in this situation by leaving me out of his plans and deals. He forced me to take sides and I chose the side that is moving” Ninsiima says in one of the audios.
The guild president is facing an impeachment vote tomorrow and the audio confirms that there is an intended move by ISO operatives to abduct him once he shows up for the voting. “I would advise Tundulu not to show up tomorrow, for the sake of his life” Ninsiima continues.
Our source suggests that the move to abduct the guild president is aimed at ensuring that he is not in position to appeal the results of the impeachment vote and that the guild vice president and/or speaker can therefore take over in his position.
