Exclusive information reaching the Campus Bee news desk indicates that three students form Kyambogo University in the accounting department have tested positive for COVID-19. A source told this website that the university administration is currently analyzing the magnitude of the cases before making their next move.
More information indicates that the Kyambogo University administration is considering the option of cancelling physical lectures in a bid to stop the virus from spreading further. The university is expected to trace and isolate contacts of the three students as away of slowing the spread of COVID-19
This is not the first time Kyambogo students are testing positive for COVID-19. Last year, a Kyambogo University finalist from the department of community and disability studies tested positive for the same virus but the university had no reopened for all students yet.
It should also be recalled that the office of the Dean of Faculty of Vocational studies was closed last year after one of the staff tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted at Mulago Hospital. All his contacts were sent into isolation for two weeks.
According to the Ministry of Health, the cumulative confirmed cases are now 44,074 and 358 people have died from the deadly virus. There are currently 140 active COVID-19 cases.
