We all might have seen, heard, stalked her around probably on TV, streets, media, clubs, and also crushed on her (never know) asking yourselves who is she? We bring you an exclusive one on one chat with the famous Tracy K (one of the contestants for the presenter search of NTV the Beat) getting to know her more than we do, I am guessing everyone is ready for this…..
For starters we would like to know who Tracy Kababiito is? What is her story?
Well I’m a humble Mutooro girl born and raised in Uganda live in Namasuba, making 21 in April. I went to a girl’s catholic school for my primary school (Namugongo Girls’ School), later joined Makerere College for a year and went to Green Hill Academy for the rest of my 5 years in high school. I always loved dancing and singing from a young age.
Any further education perhaps a diploma, degree?
I’m doing a bachelors degree in mass communication at UCU.
Interesting, tell us more about what your career goals are?
Well I’ve focused my mind on being the best at the infotainment business in due time. I’ve done radio, television, blogging, a YouTube channel and also trying to make my way into the fashion industry. Above all I’ve done performing arts in school.
What drives you to be the multifaceted lady you are? How do you get to balance all your duties with school, the social life and now zealous TV presenter?
I’m very hardworking and ambitious to add to the latter, I know who I am, what I’m worth and how far I’ve come to be the person that I am today. I know where I want to be and that keeps me pushing to be the best at whatever it is that I put my mind to do. It’s not been easy killing many birds with one stone especially when it comes down to being a person of interest in the public. Some people will say your dreams are too big and others will downright try to block your blessings and where you want to be but I’ve managed to be prayerful and keep pushing.
Intriguing for a lady young as you are with big dreams who are your role models and why?
(thinks for a while) Ummm I like Taraji P Henson and Gabriella Union.Very hardworking women …both with a strong story to tell the world. How far they’ve come, the resilience they have to be who they are today. Nothing stronger than a black woman that’s had to withstand a strong persona in a society that’s tried to break and define them by what they can and cannot do.
Speaking of society, tell us how you get to keep a pragmatic personality and yet popular character, how do you handle the limelight, criticism, negativity and all bad odds?
I come from a humble family to start with and since I was a child my mother taught me to treat everyone around me as equals. I’m such a sociable person that back in school I used to have banter with the cooks. You’ll find me straight laughing with like a boda guy on some days. The limelight is definitely not the best place to be. It’s really lonely at the top. You lose track of who is really for you and who’s against you. Friends become enemies and vice versa. I’m not one for holding back when people disrespect me…but ever since I got my head in the game I’ve learned to ignore the critics because they’re everywhere.(she continues)You can’t throw stones at every dog that barks at you. Most of them really don’t bite. That’s all they do….criticize and do nothing. They also help pray you grow.
As an aspiring NTV presenter the pressure has to rise at some point. What makes you think you are capable and the perfect replacement for the former presenters of the beat?
I’m eloquent with my speech. I’m a lovable person (anyone that doesn’t like me, that sounds like personal problem to me?). I’m entertaining and well informed about whatever it is that I bring to the table. Above all I’m still young and full of life and energy to share.
Entertaining you say, what do you do in your leisure time/for fun?
I go out with friends…grab a couple drinks and get turnt. Anybody that’s seen me and my people at the club knows we’re not there to play. We’re there to dance and have fun really.
Pretty catchy… so for the single lads out there given a chance, what is your status?
(Laughs out loud) ??I’m unavailable, my poor soul has been stolen by somebody.
Alright, so where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Probably working for an international media house. I’ll have a child …Godwillingly (I’m a sucker for babies) If I wasn’t in school I’d have one. Ohh and having my own fashion house.☺
So before we wind up in every competition(for the TV presenters search) there is always that one Person tht seems like a threat? who could that be to you?
Ohhh among the competitors, none really shakes me in my boots. All of them have their capabilities but none scares me out of my skin.?
You made a trending video that went viral on all social platforms who was behind the camera, and was it raw piece or had some edits?
??well there’s a cousin of mine that leaves with us at home, I showed her how I wanted it and she just had to tap record. I did no script for that video …I just did two takes so let’s say it took me roughly 6minutes to make both videos and rewatch them.I chose the one I thought was best.
Let me divert you slighty if you were a character in fiction who would you be?
:?my boyfriend always calls me Wonder Woman, are you familiar with the cartoon?
Absolutely not, but I can relate from the comic. So what are your last words to all the supporters, friends and family?
All I can say is believe in me, I’ll do my very best not to let you down but don’t expect perfection from me…for I’m only human. If I fail you, don’t judge me but correct me, And most importantly I love you all and appreciate the support you’ve given me.
To vote for me, Type Beat leave a space, I vote for Tracy Kababiito and send to 6565. Thank you so much.
