Fresh information from Makerere University is that the oldest institution of higher learning in the country has made illegal early morning jogging activities of halls of residence that involve freshers.
In a letter by the Dean of Students, Mr Cyriaco Kabagambe, the university has outlawed such activities after a naked photo of freshers taking part in the “Naked Mile” went viral on the internet.\
In the letter, he went on to call for the submission of names of whoever takes part in these activities for disciplinary action by the university.
Overtime, halls of residence at the university, as a form of promoting unity and culture have been organizing weekly jogging sessions where they jog around the university and neighboring towns.
According to the students, it has been helping them to keep fit and help keep healthy some of their friends that would otherwise be overweight.
“I am fat and I don’t like it. I know it is unhealthy but I can’t cut this weight on my own. But with the company of my friends, I would manage to wake up some mornings and join them to jog around the university which I think was helpful” Apollo, a former resident of Nkrumah Hall told Campus Bee.
