As the guild campaigns heat up ahead of polls on Friday, Campus Bee has exclusively learnt that city pastor, Prophet Elvis Mbonye has injected millions of shillings into the campaign trail of one of the aspirants vying to be Makerere’s 85th guild president.
Through his (Mbonye) student’s association dubbed National Christian Students Association (NCSA) Mukisa Joshua William is lucky to have the weight of the celebrated flamboyant pastor thrown behind him. We are told Mukisa received special “logistical support” from the city pastor.
Mukisa, who is a Remnant (follower of Prof Mbonye) has indeed gained massive support on ground and is one of the favorites to win the hotly contested guild elections due this Friday.
The shed all doubt, the NSCA has openly been campaigning for Mukisa and below is an excerpt of what they posted on their Facebook page;
“If you are at Makerere University, you definitely have heard the unrelentless chants and undoubtedly strong spirited support of Independent Guild Presidential Aspirant, Mukisa Joshua William.
The towering smartly dressed Mukisa, whose message has inspired thousands of students vividly seen in his campaign trail is definitely a strong contender one who we believe is to take on the mandate of leadership at this university with a strong drive.
The 3rd year law student, who also won a court petition presented to the Makerere Guild Tribunal, expressing major student concerns affecting them is one who easily draws masses to himself.
A powerful remnant of God and Christian, we believe it’s with such a background, that is propelling Mukisa to the very front and as an organization, we admire his courage and charisma exhibited while taking on this role.
If you do hear chants of a winner, do join the celebration and don’t forget to cast your vote when ballots open! #NCSALeadership #MUKDecides2019”
