Byron Luswata, the Guild President of Nkumba University was on Monday chased out of Campus after students ganged up on him and sent him out of the university. According to a source within the university, Luswata was accused of incompetency which prompted the students to chase him out.
“He has been undermining the various cabinet ministers in the guild and wanting to do things on his own. The budget money that was allocated to the various ministers to do their work, he would interfere and want to be part of every transaction.” A source within the university told Campus Bee.
The students also accuse him of betraying the “student cause” after he signed into operation a policy to ensure that every student possesses an ‘authority card’ in order to be able to access university premises. Apparently, all the previous guild presidents had refused to sign it into operation but Luswata signed it and it took effect on October 22nd.
“Since yesterday, we don’t know where the guild ran to because students told him not step back to the campus.” Our source added.
Another source within the university disclosed that out of the 20M that was budgeted for the bazaar, the guild president only used 10 and had a long habit of financial mismanagement that they thought had reached its peak.
