The family of the late Agasha Asiina, a university student who died in India at Gitam University has revealed that they are to sue the university for recklessness.

This was revealed by the deceased’s family on Thursday May 5th, 2022 upon arrival of the deceased’s body in the country.

Agasha Asiina, daughter to Mr Abudallah Kanyemera, allegedly succumbed to injuries she sustained when she fell as she tried to pick her dupatta that had fallen on the 6th floor of her hostel.

Agasha’s family blames the university for recklessness and thus planning to sue it.

Sources close to the deceased had earlier revealed that Agasha fell off when she stepped on a fibre sheet as she tried to pick her dupatta.

Despite being rushed to a hospital to save her life, Agasha breathed her last as she succumbed to injuries.

Agasha Asiina’s death triggered violence at the campus as students went on the rampage, accusing the university management of failing to provide her timely medical help, and also install safety barriers in the building.

Agasha Asiina was laid to rest on Thursday May 5th, 2022 at her ancestral home in Sanga, Kiruhura district.
