Thousands have today gathered in Moyo town to witness the final send off of fallen Muni University Vice Chancellor, the late Prof. Christine Dranzoa.
The tearful function was graced by the Bishop of Arua diocese, Right Reverend Sabino Ocan Odoki who led the mass for the deceased academician.
H.E the Vice President of Uganda, Hon. Jessica Alupo was the Chief Mourner who sorrowfully joined the assembly of mourners in paying the last respect to the beloved late Prof. Christine Dranzoa.
H.E Alupo represented President Yoweri Museveni who had the following tonote about the late Prof Dranzoa;
“A woman who has left multiple prints on Uganda’s history. Women have lost an icon who is a promoter of girl-child education.”
In her words, Hon Alupo described the late as a dear friend.
“As a friend of late Prof. Christine Dranzoa, I join the rest of the people of West Nile in celebrating the life of Prof.Dranzoa. She took it upon herself to be my supplier of honey. She would always bring me 5 litres of honey. Wherever I would ask how much, she would always say first finish using, but when I finish she would instead give me more…the friend I have come to pay tribute to,” the VP sobbed.
Muni University fraternity was represented by the recently elected chairperson of the University Council, Mr. Aita Joel.
“There is a place up there for people like you. Professor Christine, you gave more than you took. Professor Christine, you fixed more than you broke. There is a place up there for people like you”, Chairperson MU Council, Mr. Aita Joel.
