MiDCOM Group which has been a mobile phone retailer for 10 years today launched 3 smartphones for their brand, FERO Mobile.
During the event at Golf Course Hotel in Kampala, Fero Mobile launched their flagship smartphones which include the Fero Iris, Fero Royale A1, and the Lero 100.
The Fero IRIS has a special feature which lets users unlock their phone with their eyes. Yes, forget that pattern that you fear Bae might cram!! You will need only and only your eyes to unlock the mobile phones. The Fero Iris has an Iris scanner which scans your eyes to authenticate users when unlocking the phone.
The IRIS is 4G enabled and has a 5 inch screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution, an 8MP camera, 1GB of RAM and a 2500 mAh battery.
During a brief demonstration of the Iris scanner, Sidarajju the Head of Sales and Marketing, showed us that the feature can work even when you are wearing spects. “Users no longer have to worry about how secure their device is. You just use your eyes to unlock your phone,” Sidarajju said.
Mr Vickram Goaal, the Business head at Fero Mobile also launched another smartphone dubbed Royale A1 that comes with a voice command prompt to unlock it. You can give your phone a name and for example, say ‘Hello Anna’ and the phone will unlock itself.
The Royale A1 comes with a 5000 mAh battery, an 8 megapixel back camera, 5 megapixel front camera with flash, Xensation glass with enhanced display protection, Quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory.
On the other hand, the L100 has a 5-Inch IPS Display screen, 1.3 Ghz Quad Core Processor, 1GB RAM/8GB ROM and a microSD up to 32 GB (dedicated slot), 5MP both rear and front cameras, Android 6 Marshmallow, all powered by a 2350 mAh removable Li-Ion battery.
The IRIS, Royale A1 and L100 will cost 440,000/-, 370,000/- and 270,000/- respectively. You can buy them from any Midcom outlet in Kampala.
