Makerere University council has resolved that the university shall be opened tomorrow after a closed-door meeting with the Minister of education, Janet Kataaha Museveni, at the office of the prime Minister, Campus Bee can confirm.
“University council reached a decision and tomorrow, Tuesday, August 16th, campus will open again,” Janet Museveni said and assured MAK students that come tomorrow, they should be on their way to campus.
Our Reporter, Derrick Mugabe, who attended the meeting says that the students who staged a strike today over the pending opening of the University jubilated upon hearing this good news at the Office of the Prime Minister.
“You are a group of young people who really care about education, institutions and Uganda at large,” Hon Janet praised MAK students before going ahead to assure them that their positive cause and call has been heeded to.
