Lynnette Kebirungi was Uganda’s second female (after Winnie Byanyima) to acquire a degree in aerospace engineering but that did not hold her back from hitting another milestone- in May this year, she became the first female Ugandan to acquire a masters in aerospace engineering.
Now, Campus Bee has learned that Kebirungi has been hired by renowned British car-manufacturing and aero-engine manufacturing company, Rolls-Royce.
On Monday evening, she posted a photo of herself with a Rolls-Royce tag on her Instagram account; “Story story, we got to give God glory#firstdayatwork #RR.”
We are told Kebirungi will be working in the Rolls-Royce aero-engine department developing engines for aircraft.
The most famous aero-engines developed by Rolls-Royce is the Trent 900, a series of turbofan engines.
The Trent 900 engine powered the first commercial A380 in 2007 and is now used by eight operators in more than 70 aircraft. Rolls-Royce says the engine is highly fuel efficient, with the latest version including technology developed for the Trent XWB and Trent 1000 engines.
